Alan J. Rindahl

Alan Rindahl age 49, of White Earth, MN, died Saturday, March 17, 2012 at his home.

Alan Joseph Rindahl was born September 8, 1962 in Mahnomen, MN, to Maynard, Sr. and Myrtle (Benson) Rindahl. He grew up in the White Earth area and attended school in Waubun. Together with Dianne “Mag” Kier, the couple lived in White Earth and raised twin daughters. Al furthered his education towards an electrician from Northwest Technical College in Detroit Lakes, MN. This knowledge allowed him to work at various places doing electrical and maintenance work. For the majority of his life, Al worked at the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen until his failing health forced him to take an early retirement.

Alan was a gentle giant that liked to tease and joke around. He had quite a sense of humor and enjoyed visiting as he knew just about everyone! Al also liked fishing, BBQ’s, and cooking. He loved spending time with his grandsons and going to the casino, as many will remember him as the “Keno King”.

Alan is survived by his daughters, Nellie (Paul) Kier of White Earth and Angela Kier of Mahnomen; three grandsons: Keenen Kier, Cameron Kier, and Tyler RedHorse Jr. his father, Maynard Rindahl Sr.; brothers: Maynard Rindahl Jr., Tim (Cheryl) Rindahl, both of Mahnomen, and Troy Benson; sisters: Patsy Villebrun of Twin Valley, Sue (Phillip Sr.) Travis of Kansas City, MO, Darcy Rindahl of North Branch, MN, and Angel (Nathaniel) Benson of Ada, MN.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Friday, March 23, 2012 at White Earth Community Center in White Earth.

Visitation will begin Thursday, March 22nd at 7:00 pm and go until the time of the funeral service on Friday. There will be a prayer service Thursday at 8 pm all at the White Earth Community Center.
