Waurine “Pinky” Littlewolf, age 58 of Ada, MN, died Friday, October 19, 2012 at Sanford Health Systems in Fargo, ND.
Waurine Faye was born October 1, 1954 in White Earth, MN, the daughter of William Burnette and Julia Morgan. Pinky attended school in Mahnomen and has spent the majority of her life on the White Earth Indian Reservation. She moved in May of 2010 to Ada, where she has lived since.
Pinky enjoyed fishing, putting together jig saw puzzles, a trip to the casino and often spoke her mind. She would also take the time to meticulously bead different things like jewelry and smaller things.
Pinky is survived by her significant other, Earl Ovaldson of Ada; three sons: Bryan Lilley (Brandy Auginaush) of Ada, Daniel Garbow of Naytahwaush, MN, and Troy Garbow of Detroit Lakes, MN; five daughters: Tina Garbow of Minneapolis, MN, Tammy Garbow of Ada, Tanya (Bruce) Leonhardt of Ponsford, MN, Noreen Ironshield (Harlan Hornedeagle) of Bismarck, ND, and Georgianna Garbow (Delmas Jones) of Ada; several grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Isaac Littlewolf of Naytahwaush and John Surbeck of Minneapolis; five sisters: Ada Burnette of Naytahwaush, Victoria (Bert) Wichern of Waubun, Sally Littlewolf also of Waubun, Linda Littlewolf of Naytahwaush and Germaine Johnson of Ada; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gerald Ironshield and two sisters, Nora Garbow and Cora Briggs.
Traditional Native American services will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 10am at the Old Community Center in Naytahwaush, MN. Visitation begins Thursday, October 25th at 5 pm and goes until the time of the service.
