Stanley “John” Burdick Jr., age 62 of Lengby, Minnesota, died Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Kindred Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota.
John, the son of Stanley and Kathleen (Giard) Burdick, was born on December 10, 1949 in White Earth, Minnesota. He attended grade school at the Uran Country School and later Mahnomen High School. Over the years, John lived in Shakopee, Minnesota, Bejou, Minnesota, and was currently living near Lengby. He worked most of his life as a logger and a truck driver. The best day of his life was meeting, Audrey Leines, followed closely by the birth of their sons, Frank and Dean. John had a great sense of humor and an amazing ability to spot the humor in any of life’s most trying events. He loved to hunt and was an amazing marksman. John enjoyed playing cards, was an uncanny strategist and had an impenetrable poker face. He was taken too soon and will be missed terribly by his family and friends.
John is survived by his wife, Audrey of Lengby; sons, Frank of Mahnomen and Dean (Rebecca)of Frisco, Texas; two precious granddaughters, Racquelle and Natalie; his mother, Kathleen of Lengby; seven sisters: Virginia (Fred) Eichel of Charleston, South Carolina, Elsie Wolff of Belle Plaine, Minnesota, Janice (Ron) Adkins of St. Cloud, Minnesota, Katherine (Ron) Shea of North Mankato, Minnesota, Barbara (Rick) DeHaan of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, Priscilla (Bruce) Wilfahrt of Saint Paul, Minnesota, Patricia (Brad) Athmann of Naytahwaush, Minnesota; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley John Burdick Sr.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the Anderson-Mattson Funeral Home in Mahnomen, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Funeral Service. Interment was at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery in Mahnomen.
